Introduction to Devotion Yoga

Devotion Yoga is a community dedicated to creating a safe, peaceful, and non-competitive environment which offers individuals the opportunity to learn the practice of yoga through classes, workshops and related events.

We are committed to providing high quality, inspiring, unique, and balanced programming that support our members in living a healthy and fulfilling life. Devotion Yoga offers classes for every age and every level. Whether you are new to yoga, healing from an injury, or looking to deepen your practice, the teachers and staff at Devotion are here to help you navigate the many practice options to find the perfect classes for you.

Most adult classes at Devotion Yoga are Vinyasa style unless otherwise noted. Vinyasa literally means "to place oneself in a certain way" and is described as a practice which "flows with the breath". Picture meditation in motion; the movement from one posture to another flowing with the waves of breath. Vinyasa movement is fluid with great attention to proper breathing and alignment, while honoring the wisdom of the body to lead the way. Devotion also offers many Mom and Baby classes. We have many prenatal, postnatal, and Mom and Me classes.

In addition to the classes, we recently started our MUMs group. Mindful Urban Moms (MUMs) is a community designed by Devotion Yoga to create and support parents as they embark on this journey. The practice begins before your baby is born with a robust schedule of Prenatal Classes, Fertility and Childbirth Workshops.

As you continue into parenthood, join us for a series of workshops and classes developed to help support parents as they confront issues of self-care, sovereignty, discipline, exhaustion, wellness and nutrition. The MUMs community is a place where moms-to-be and new mothers can connect, get information, and have opportunities to incorporate yoga, mindfulness and holistic living for themselves and their families. This nurturing community is where you can begin your parenting journey in a mindful way. Each class is different, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the limits of body and mind.

The benefits of Vinyasa Yoga are endless and include increased flexibility, strength, coordination, concentration, endurance, a greater sense of well-being and peacefulness. Please join our community at Devotion. Visit our website (www.devotionyoga.com) or give us a call at (201) 610-YOGA.
